Advantages using a Tsunami Bar:

Bar oscillates making stabilizing muscles much more active.
Can vary the force generated by the bar by the speed of
the movement.

How to perform the Back Squat with a Tsunami Bar:

By performing the back squat with a Tsunami Bar® one has the ability to lift using maximal efforts with maximal loads and the ability to perform dynamic movements using submaximal weight (around 30%-40% of your max weight) without the need for chains or bands.  The lifter can load the bar and take it to parallel as a traditional squat and fire out of the bottom.  However, the difference is the oscillating actions that take place at the top of the lift.  Other Benefits include the ability to develop maximal impulse forces using submaximal loads by applying reversal force at the bottom of the squat. The lifter can accomplish this by reversing the bar before it bottoms out at the end of the squat.   Also, the ability to lock in the stabilization benefits while maximizing the motor unit recruitment demands through the central nervous system.  Another key benefit of the Tsunami Bar® is the flexibility, which allows the bar to lay across the back of the shoulders and puts the load on the hips and sagittal plane of the body instead of the vertebrae.  The flexibility of the bar allows for a better placement of the hands on the bar due to the bending, especially if one has shoulder issues.  In other words the bar contours to the body which makes it more natural to hold as one lifts. As the lifter masters the squat technique greater forces can be created by reversing the bar at the top of the squat as well as the bottom.  This puts the lifter in a constant concentric movement on the way up and down; consequently, allowing for continual loading of the of the muscles as a result of the upward reversal and downward reversal movements causing the sensory receptors in the muscles and tendons to be activated at an enhanced level. This Results in more training and conditioning of the muscles involved in the back squat, creating one huge potential benefit and that being enhanced speed or contraction of the quads, hamstrings and glutes resulting in greater power movement by the lifter.  The oscillatory training effect will take place naturally as the Tsunami Bar® oscillates while the lifter performs the squat in a force or dynamic exercise.
